Willa Honeyberry is a superb variety that is incredibly easy to grow. Another great honeyberry bred by Dr. Maxine Thompson. These are the best honeyberries we can grow in the Pacific Northwest, performing much more like a commercial blueberry with large berries, upright growth, high production and easy picking. Honeyberries are also full of antioxidants! Best in sun or part shade Willa is tolerant of almost all soil types and does not require any annual pruning. Produces good yields of large, delicious flavored berries. Vigorous, upright plants. Plant with Tana for cross pollination. Cold hardy.

Pollination: Needs to be grown with a second variety to pollinate and produce berries. Tana and Willa have compatible bloom times.

Time to productivity: About 1 year from planting, depending on conditions.

Ripening time: May to June

Size: Older plants can get to be 6′ tall.

Another honeyberry bred by Dr. Maxine Thompson's breeding program, Japanese haskaps will perform well in both cold & hot climates, from Zones 2 – 9.Tolerant of almost all soil types and does not require any annual pruning. Willa' produces respectable yields of large, round, nicely-flavored berries that grow on vigorous, upright plants. Blooms at the same time as "Kawai."
