Ruta graveolens

A wonderful, intensely flavored bitter herb with a long history of culinary and medicinal uses throughout the world, including for eye health and as an abortifacient. Used to flavor bitters and often added in small quantities to salads. Very drought tolerant once established and the flowers are prolific, a brilliant yellow and beloved by bees and other pollinators. Known in some places as Herb of Grace. If planted around fruiting plants, especially raspberries, its aroma repels pests. Dried it is said to repel moths.
