Description
Amorpha fruticosa. A excellent and easy to use nitrogen fixing native shrub. Can get up to 15 feet tall, but easily maintained smaller with pruning. Grows in both dry and wet soils. Easy to manage, it's not a true locust and doesn’t have thorns. Cut it back aggressively for the nitrogen fertilization from the roots and fast decomposing leaf litter. A excellent pollinator plant, with native purple/yellow flowers. Can be used as livestock fodder. Can grow in partial shade or full sun.
