Description
Prunus persica. Frost Peach is the peach you can grow in rainy cold climates! This variety came from a seedling at the WSU Mount Vernon testing station and is highly resistant to peach leaf curl, the main disease that makes growing peaches difficult in rainy climates. Young trees may show some signs of leaf curl but will soon grow out of the disease. Frost will ripen high quality fruit where other peaches fail, namely the maritime northwest! These are delicious yellow-fleshed semi-freestone peaches. Self fertile trees grow 10-14’ in size. Plant in the warmest spot you have and thin the fruit when it is small for best results.
