A native Pacific Northwest evergreen. Berries are edible and delicious, and can stay on the plant year round if grown in a protected location. This plant makes an excellent landscape or hedge choice, although it can be somewhat slower to achieve large size. Highly shade tolerant, often takes on reddish leaf coloring in full sun. Will get above 10′ if unpruned over it’s many decades of life.
