Rubus hybrid
Tayberry. A cross between Loganberry and black raspberry, Tayberry produces large, elongated, reddish-black berries with a sweet-tart flavor and fragrant aroma. Berries are delicate when fully ripe, ideal for home gardens, pies, jams, and dessert toppings. Ripens in late summer on vigorous, trailing, slightly prickly canes. Trailing canes benefit from trellis support; tie to horizontal wires and prune to maintain a manageable 6-foot length. Space plants 8 feet apart or closer. Hardy, self-fertile, and thriving in full sun with well-drained soil.
