Description
Ficus carica. This gourmet fig has a history of successful production in the Pacific Northwest. Black Spanish Fig produces consistently and can crop twice per year. Fruit are firm and very sweet, with a reddish purple exterior. Use them fresh or in drying, cooking, or to make delicious preserves. This variety will stay much smaller than most, growing to 10' if unprunned. It is easily grown in a container as well. Needs full sun. Self fertile. Hardy to 5° F. Zone 7.
