Aronia melanocarpa
Aronia Berry is a small 6 ft. shrub with abundant berries about the size of blueberries which are considered “superfruits” for their many health benefits. Aronia berries are very nutritious, easy to harvest, and the juice made from them is delicious when slightly sweetened. Plants are great in the landscape with dense white flowers that bees and other pollinators love, and incredible red/orange fall color, reminiscent of Japanese Maples. Tolerant of wet sites, widely adapted, sun or shade. Easy to grow, and no issues with pests, unless you experience deer pressure.
