Lucy Glo is a visually striking and excellent tasting red/pink fleshed apple with a partially translucent yellow/green peel that occasionally shows its colorful interior. Its flavor is sweet/tart with a pronounced berry flavor, some say it tastes "candy-like". Lucy™Glo was bred by Bill Howell in Prosser, Washington, as an open-pollinated cross, reportedly between the red fleshed but inferior flavored Airlie Red Flesh apple and Honeycrisp, though this is unconfirmed. The quality of the fruit is outstanding, but it should be thinned to increase size, prevent fruit drop, and encourage annual bearing.
USDA Zone: 4–7
Pollination: Not self-fertile; plant with a compatible apple variety for cross-pollination. Honeycrisp may not work as a pollinator.
Time to productivity: 2–3 years depending on conditions.

Storage length: 1-2 months for best quality
